Young people as Changemakers

On 13th and 14th of November, SCI Switzerland participated at Step into action, an event that motivates young people to be active in society and supports them in their commitment. The event took place in Bern (Switzerland) and more than 600 young people participated.

SCI Switzerland offered a Workshop on interculturality to promote reflection and exchange of ideas and motivate young people to contribute their skills, concerns, and values in society.

There was also an “interactive” SCI info-stand. At the stand, young people were asked what topics they were interested in and would like to get involved. The result was interesting:

On the wall you can see the poster with SCI Topics. The majority opted for environment protection, climate and sustainable lifestyle, gender equality and sexuality and antiracism, antifascism. The least voted topics were elderly people and people with disabilities.

We face important challenges (cultural, environmental, economic, technological) and young people have the energy and ingenuity to contribute to change. This was demonstrated in Step into action!
