This autumn SCI Germany will kick off an innovative new long-term project in cooperation with 8 other European partners (SCI Germany, SCI Italy, VIA Netherlands, OWA Poland, VSI Ireland, SCI Austria, VCZ Croatia, SCI Madrid and Utilapu Hungary), funded by the European Commission. The project cycle titled: “A Daily Plate of Peace and Non-violence” aims to critically reflect our food consumption patterns and further strengthen consciousness by sensitising for meaningful and healthy alternatives.

The project encompasses several events internationally and locally, starting with an international seminar in Germany from 18th till 25th of November aiming to engage in a proud reflection and develop together “do it yourself” workshops for local activities. The event will be hosted by the Transition Town in Witzenhausen. These activities shall be implemented in the following months of the seminar by the participants, to walk the talk and adapt the learning points to a local context. The experiences gathered will be discussed during an intense exchange meeting in Rome, Italy, in March 2019. During the project, the volunteers will compile a SCI cookbook. The project will be closed with a final event, taking place in Austria, in September 2019, where we will gather the final results and run a public event to showcase the outcomes and launch the final version of the SCI cookbook.

The call for participants for the kick-off event will be circulated in September, you will need to apply directly through your respective branch.

So if this sounds like a great and meaningful way to spend your volunteering time this autumn and next year with us, contribute to a SCI cookbook and enjoy learning while cooking: do not forget to save the dates and watch your inbox for news.
