The IDP - officially on the 21 September every year is a day dedicated to Cessation of War, Non Violence, a culture of Peace. Nations all over the world take this day and its adjoining week to celebrate and commemorate it. Every year we have a new theme and this year it is - The Right to Peace.

In Malaysia this have been actively promoted by a group of NGOs call Partners for Peace. SCI Malaysia is a founding member and instrument in organising this event for the past 12 years.
For the past 11 years our focal point was in Taiping, also known literally as the Town of Everlasting Peace. This year we decided to commemorate International Day of Peace in Kuala Lumpur. We were delighted and honoured to have our Federal Minister Waytha Moorthy, HE Mr Stefan Priesner, UN Resident Coordinator, YB Maria Chin, Mother Mangalam and 500 attendees to experience many interesting and meaningful activities related to Peace, promoting Peace and sharing the message for Peace.
