Rémi has joined the IS!
Meet Rémi, our new Office Volunteer
Hello everyone, it’s Rémi, from France.
Having just completed my Master’s degree in politics and international cooperation, I’m now proud to join the SCI-IS team as a volunteer. I’ve been involved with many NGOs and charities during my studies, but SCI will be my first long-term experience with an international organisation.I’d like to make the best possible contribution to the International Secretary’s activities and to the continuous improvement of the SCI network’s actions by working on gender and environmental impact assessment, donor relations, fundraising and branch reporting (among others).
I hope to be able to use all the skills I’ve acquired during my studies and learn new ones. It would also be an excellent opportunity to decide whether peace-building and international cooperation are really areas I’d like to work in.Moving to a new country will certainly be the hardest part, but part of my desire to come to Antwerp stems from a desire to leave my comfort zone. It won’t be easy, but I know I’ll be surrounded by excellent colleagues who can guide me through this radical change of lifestyle.
I’m looking forward to this year of volunteering with as much enthusiasm as apprehension, hoping that it will bring me as much as possible of the first and as little as possible of the second.
