SCI’s mission is to promote a culture of peace. In order to achieve our mission, we work on different topics and issues through our branches and always keeping the local and global perspective in mind. The themes highlighted on the website are directly tied to different projects, campaigns and programmes we have run on an international level during the past few years.

Climate

The general donations support the activities of SCI International Secretariat, the brain and nerve centre of the whole SCI network. Your donation will help strengthen the structure, support branches all over the world, develop high performance logistics, host volunteers, pay the staff and more. Giving to the general fund helps increase our independence and resilience and give us a greater financial capacity to lead ambitious projects for peace.

Refugees and migrants

SCI believes that each human being needs and should be at the core of governmental policies, before any economic or political evaluation. This is why SCI promotes freedom of movement and the right to citizenship at a global level.

Gender

Gender inequalities, stereotypes and prejudice negatively influence everyday life experiences of people with a non-normative gender and/or sexuality, and often result in their marginalisation and discrimination. SCI sees this as violence and tries to address it with its projects.

Peace and antimilitarism

SCI was funded as a peace and antimilitarist movement by Pierre Cérésole and these topics are still very important to us, especially with the current global rise of fascism, ongoing wars and genocides and arms race. Multiple projects, trainings and workshops have been organized by SCI on the basis of non-formal education and many more are to come, with the promotion of a culture of peace at the core of it.
