- the Charity Library, involving the selection, cataloguing and maintenance of the book collection;
- maintenance and tidying of the Park, the vegetable gardens and other areas dedicated to children and users of the ‘Cittadella’;
- contributing ideas and/or artefacts to the Peace Park and the ‘José Martí’ Study Centre.
Some services are specifically aimed at people living in poverty or experiencing psychological difficulties, whilst others fall within the scope of educational activities. Underpinning the initiatives carried out in Italy and abroad are the values of cooperation, inclusivity and brotherhood among peoples and individuals of all backgrounds, ethnicities and religious faiths.
During free time, volunteers can relax, explore the city of Tarquinia, which has a magnificent historic centre dating back to the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, go to the beaches of the Tyrrhenian Sea, or go for a walk or excursion in the immediate surroundings of the Tuscia region and neighbouring Tuscany.

Are you looking for a mode to disconnect from the overwhelming daily life? The Ecovillage Garden of Joy is a true oasis of frugal and laborious peace in an immense centuries-old olive grove among the mountains and beaches of Gargano, Puglia, where syntropic agriculture, synergistic horticulture, green building, vegan cuisine, arts, wood-baking and spiritual quest are practiced.
The organization will host an international volunteer camp focused on regenerative agriculture and integral non-violence. Located in the lovely region of Puglia, this 14-day project offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in community life, learn agricultural techniques and experience collective living in nature.
During the volunteer camp, participants will be supporting in several tasks, especially agricultural ones, necessary for the food and energy self-sufficiency of the resident community. The work, organized into two shifts of up to three hours each in the morning and afternoon, will first include mechanical weeding and pruning, and then focus on harvesting the olives donated each year by approximately 560 ancient trees. This will be followed by transportation to the mill and sowing the green manure for the soil’s natural nourishment cycle.
The study will consist of a more theoretical and a more practical session, both interactive: the first will focus on a possible paradigm of Integral Non-violence, the second on principles and methods of regenerative agriculture. There will also be opportunities for less formal learning about yoga, vegan cuisine, and green building.
During their free time, volunteers will be able, independently or with their local partner, to go to the beach or visit nearby caves, hermitages, towers and lakes. There will also be an excursion to a beautiful shell beach.
Taking part in this project, you will have the opportunity to disconnect in a peaceful environment, gain practical hands-on agricultural skills and experience the strength of community living.

Would you like to learn about bioconstruction while learning about Italian culture? Then you can’t miss this opportunity!
Mòvesi APS will host an international volunteer camp focused on bioconstruction, sustainable agriculture and environmental protection. Located in the beautiful Salerno area, this 10-day project offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in community life, learn agricultural techniques and experience collective living in nature.
The project’s goal is to create a bio-pool that enhances biodiversity and the usability of a site that serves as a community center, a place of agricultural and cultural production, where best practices based on the principles of permaculture, biophilia, and ecosophy can be experimented.
During the camp, volunteers will work on building a bio-pond. This includes a shared design phase and a more extensive manual labor phase: transporting stones and creating a soil reinforcement, creating a filter area, waterproofing, and planting aquatic and marsh plants for phytoremediation. Work hours will be 4-5 hours per day.
The study theme will consist of an Italian language and culture course with an experienced professional teacher and activities using non-formal techniques. Lessons include a theoretical component for learning the basics of the Italian language and culture, and a practical component focusing on the culinary aspects of Italian cuisine. There will also be a paper and regenerative agriculture workshop, and one about care and micro-maintenance of the Mimi and Peppino educational garden.
Taking part in this project, you will have the opportunity to connect deeply with nature, gain practical hands-on bioconstruction and agricultural skills and experience the strength of community living.

Would you like to contribute to maintaining a historic space while experiencing self sustainability and community life?
La Città dell’Utopia, a project by SCI Italy in Rome San Paolo district, is a social laboratory for active citizenship and local development. Located on a small hill, its 200-year-old building fosters local citizenship, associations, and international volunteers. The project hosts seminars, workshops, festivals, and events to connect the local community with international participants.
For 20 years, volunteers and camps have maintained and renewed the space. Due to its age, constant renovation is needed. This volunteer camp focuses on restoring and improving the site while fostering learning and community bonds.
During the camp, volunteers will develop restoration activities at La Città dell’Utopia focused on revitalizing its historic building and outdoor spaces. They will paint the corridor and two of our social hostel rooms. During the weekend, the volunteers will support the activity in our local vegetable garden, a place that gathers volunteers who put into practice the core values of this place: collaboration among different people, self sustainability through the cultivation and aiming at creating a society that is in tune with the environment, the community and the people who inhabit our place. More work could be developed, depending if time will allow it.
This collective effort will ensure that this place remains vibrant and welcoming for the community.
The study part of the camp will explore heritage, sustainability, antifascism, and social engagement. Volunteers learn about heritage preservation, sustainable lifestyles, and antifascist values through discussions about the importance of caring for local citizens, human rights, and social justice.
The project strengthens community ties, encouraging grassroots participation and collective responsibility to create a more inclusive and sustainable society.
