We are pleased to present the new Handbook on Fair Supply Chains, developed as part of this Erasmus+ project, a collaboration between NGOs from Germany, Austria, Spain, Poland, and Romania.

The handbook is designed for NGOs, youth education stakeholders, and civil society organisations seeking a deeper understanding of global supply chains and practical ways to promote fairer, more responsible practices. It offers a variety of tools, including criteria catalogues, self-assessment tests, examples of political engagement, and interactive methods for youth work, showing how every institution can contribute to positive change.

Supply chains shape the world. Often invisible, sometimes destructive, but always full of potential! Too often, exploitation, human rights violations, and environmental harm lie behind the products people use every day. From Chains to Bridges – The Handbook on Human Rights, Environmental Sustainability & Supply Chains demonstrates how chains can turn into bridges: bridges between people, markets, and ideas, bridges toward justice, respect, and social and ecological responsibility.

It provides insight into:

  • How global systems of production and trade are structured and where power lies.
  • How these dynamics affect people, communities, and the environment worldwide.
  • How individuals, organizations, and businesses can engage responsibly.

Through practical tools, case studies, and inspiring examples, the handbook invites readers to explore:

  • The hidden social and environmental impacts behind everyday products.
  • Ways to promote human rights, sustainability, and social responsibility in supply chains.
  • Concrete steps for transforming chains of exploitation into bridges of cooperation and positive change.

Additionally, it can serve as a resource for training, education, and organizational planning—a tool for reflection, learning, and action to contribute to a fairer, more sustainable world.

Who is it for?
Everyone who wants not only to understand global supply chains but to actively shape them: committed individuals in NGOs, businesses, politics, and civil society.

Ready to make a difference?
The handbook is now available in five languages as a free download. Let’s turn supply chains that bind into bridges that connect!
