Erasmus+ is a bargain! Advocacy action to EU ministers
While taking up just 2% of the total EU budget, Erasmus+ delivers massive impact by bringing people together and powering Europe’s education, volunteering, and youth opportunities. Yet the EU Ministers are considering cutting funding for the 2028–2034 budget cycle. This would mean losing out on countless life-changing experiences and shared progress.
Many of SCI’s opportunities for young people to learn and exchange on important topics such as environmental justice, peace, intersectionality, are made possible by Erasmus+ funding. Training opportunities that provide job-related skills, such as our Flow and Stream training courses on non-formal education and facilitation methods are also funded by Erasmus+.
That’s why we signed the open letter prepared by the European Youth Forum and the Erasmus+ Coalition, addressing EU Finance and Foreign Affairs Ministers ahead of the 15–16 October European Council meeting to stand with young people and secure at least €47.4 billion.
