Peace Conversations Podcast: Explore Peace in Action

To mark this year’s International Day of Peace (21 September 2025), whose theme was “Act Now for a Peaceful World,” Service Civil International (SCI) has launched a new podcast series: Peace Conversations.

Produced in collaboration with the podcast Talks&Cakes, this series explores what peace looks like in practice—through personal stories, activism, and dialogue. Each episode brings together voices from SCI volunteers, educators, and peacebuilders who reflect on how peace connects to justice, nonviolence, solidarity, and climate responsibility.

The Peace Conversations Podcast invites listeners to reflect, learn, and take action for a more peaceful world.

Episode 1: Volunteering Stories – Justine & Cecilia

Join Justine and Cecilia, passionate SCI workcampers, as they reflect on the 2025 International Day of Peace theme: “Act Now for a Peaceful World.” They share practical steps that activists and volunteers take to build peace—and how you can get involved.

Episode 2: Decolonised Education & No More War Collective – Danai Tessa

In this episode, Danai Tessa (they/them), non-formal educator and member of No More War in Athens, talks about political education, decolonization, antimilitarization, and community empowerment. The episode ends with a call to collective action for justice and solidarity.

Episode 3: Volunteering for Solidarity – Nour Da’na

Join Nour Da’na, an ESC volunteer at SCI Catalunya, as they discuss the importance of solidarity in peacebuilding. Nour emphasizes that small actions make a difference and shares what solidarity with Palestinians can look like.

Final Episode: Nonviolent Advocacy – Alexandra Vasileiou

In the series finale, we sit down with Alexandra Vasileiou, longtime SCI volunteer and former president of SCI. She reflects on nonviolent communication, advocacy, and the courage to stand up for justice, offering both inspiration and practical guidance for anyone passionate about activism and dialogue.
