Job opportunity in SCI: Fundraiser
Fundraise for peace!
We are looking for a person who would like to be part of our international movement and support Global Peace Activism through fundraising in 2025.
Background of the project:
The aim of the Fundraising is to financially support network branches and partners to be more actively involved and to participate physically in SCI spaces which promote the core values of SCI and the values of the European Union (EU). SCI seeks to work with an external fundraiser to develop SCI’s fundraising database of warm contacts and raise funds for specific events in 2025.
SCI’s fundraising is part of SCI’s Partnership on Peace, financially supported by the CERV Programme of the European Union (Project 101194475 — PoP 2025).
As our resources are limited, we want to focus now on fundraising for the following events:
- the Exchange Platform Meeting (EPM) in Germany, October 2025;
- our new global Campaign on Peace Activism;
- the International Committee Meeting (ICM) in Bulgaria, December 2025.
Next to that, it would be great to find funding opportunities for SCI events and spaces in general.
Through a discussion with the fundraiser, SCI will prioritise the events in need of more financial support. The fundraiser will receive all needed information in order to understand the aim, objectives and importance of all the above mentioned events.
You can read more about our previous activities in our Annual Report.
Profile of the Fundraiser:
Task description:
- Attend meetings with the Fundraising Committee (formed by the International Coordinator and members of the International Secretariat and International Executive Committee), as needed (approximately 2-3 online meetings);
- Create a database of warm contacts for fundraising, specific numbers to be agreed upon;
- Create a “leave behind” document to send to the contacts after reaching out (max. 5 pages) – Mission, vision, needs, activities of SCI;
- Create 3-5 fundraising packages together with the fundraising team;
- Advise the office on how to keep funders engaged long-term;
- Contact foundations/companies/donors that align with SCI values and discuss with potential donors with the intent of receiving funds. For this task, we’ll offer support from the International Executive Committee (IEC) and the International Coordinator (IC).
Essential competencies:
- Experience in fundraising from foundations/companies/individuals (not grant applications);
- Understanding of fundraising and funding management principles;
- Guided by high ethical standards;
- No conflict of interest, meaning that any applicant can not be a paid staff member of any SCI branch;
- Respect for the principles of transparency and management of confidential information;
- Good language skills (English);
Desirable competencies:
- Familiar with SCI or like-minded International Voluntary service organisation/s (IVS);
- Experience with projects organised by IVS organisations.
Conditions:
- No geographical restrictions for this role as the work is 100% remote;
- 7 months engagement: April-October 2025. This is a task based engagement, with most hours required during the first months (April-May). However, the fundraiser is free to organise their own time as long as the agreed upon results are delivered on time.
- A contract will be created outlining the roles and responsibilities.
- Compensation will be a lump-sum payment of 2500 EUR and a 10% of raised funds up to an agreed limit (the maximum budget for the percentage of the raised funds is 5500 EUR).
How to apply?
Please send your CV and a short letter of motivation detailing your suitability for the role through the form below.
