The Peace Activism Campaign
SCI is launching the Peace Activism Campaign, a global initiative that reclaims nonviolence as a powerful, creative, and necessary response to today’s social, political, and environmental crises.
At a time marked by war, injustice, climate breakdown, and shrinking civic space, SCI believes one thing clearly:
This campaign invites individuals, groups, and organisations across the SCI movement and beyond to take action for peace, locally and globally.
What is the Peace Activism Campaign?
The Peace Activism Campaign is a global SCI initiative to revive and reframe nonviolence as a tool for social justice and positive peace. It reconnects SCI with its roots as a peace organisation while strengthening collaboration, visibility, and participation across the movement.
Our Core Message
Nonviolence is not passive.
It is active resistance.
SCI builds peace through:
- Interpersonal connection
- Collective action
- Creative, nonviolent responses to injustice
How to Join the Campaign
Any SCI branch, group, partner, working group, or contact can join by organising at least one activity and sharing its outcomes (photos, videos, testimonials, reflections) as part of a collective global output.
To be part of the Peace Activism Campaign, activities should meet three criteria:
🪷 Nonviolence – use nonviolence as a tool for social justice and positive peace.
🌏 Local-to-Global – respond to a local issue while linking it to broader global challenges such as systemic violence, climate injustice, militarism, or migration.
⛏️ Action-Oriented – go beyond discussion and support real action for peace.
Types of Activities
The campaign welcomes a wide range of actions, including:
- Engagement: volunteer camps, local protests, direct action, Wikipedia work
- Awareness: workshops, trainings, podcasts, exhibitions, creative campaigns
- Advocacy: public statements, policy engagement, action days
Focus themes include inner peace, interpersonal peace, social justice, and climate justice.

Volunteer camps: Peace in Action
Volunteer camps are central to the Peace Activism Campaign. They become spaces of nonviolent resistance, connecting local action with global struggles.
This can include reflection or training on nonviolence, linking daily work to systemic issues such as the climate crisis, militarism, or migration, and aligning activities with protests, activist art, or peace campaigns.
📣 The Peace Activism Campaign is launching soon.
Whether through a volunteer camp, a workshop, a protest, or a creative action, your contribution matters.
Together, we show that peace is active, collective, and nonviolent.
