Annual report 2025

SCI’s annual report showcases the work of the international coordination and movement over the past year. Besides information on SCI’s finances, decision-making structures and statistics of the past year, the annual report gives information about our projects and campaigns as well as insights into the activities of our branches.

Energized by all the activities implemented this year, we are standing strong in our commitment to peace, and we keep cultivating the spirit of solidarity within and outside our movement. In a world that is driving deeper and deeper divisions between people, collective practices of resistance to the logics of hate and war are more essential than ever for our future.

Volunteer exchanges

In 2025, volunteer camps focussed on different themes, many centring their activities on the protection of the environment; art, culture and local history; and community life. Other camps allowed volunteers to participate in climate and sustainable lifestyle activities, work with children and youth, galvanise efforts regarding antiracism, antifascism, remembrance, volunteer alongside people with disabilities, and contribute to peace and disarmament. In a few camps, volunteers contributed to international solidarity, raised awareness on the topics of poverty and social injustice and worked in support of refugees, immigrants and ethnic minorities.

Projects

International projects are one of the tools helping the SCI Movement achieve its strategic goals and strengthen the organisation in the following key areas: cooperation, sharing, advocacy, financial strength and transparency, capacity building, and communication.

Partnership on Peace

In the third edition of SCI’s Regranting Scheme, developed in the scope of its Operating Grant under CERV, the International Secretariat of SCI invited proposals from its member organisations based in EU member states, for projects to be supported throughout the year. The aim of the Regranting Scheme was to financially support network branches to carry out activities which promote the core values of SCI and the values of the European Union (EU).

In 2025, 9 projects were submitted and 6 projects selected.

Regranting to non-EU members

We invited proposals from branches and groups based outside of the EU, for projects planned to take place in the 2025 year. This was possible through SCI’s Regranting Fund, created during the 87th ICM. The aim of the Regranting Scheme was to financially support SCI activities which support SCI’s core values and would otherwise be difficult to fund. 5 projects were funded.

During the course of 2025, SCI became more present in advocacy and awareness-raising spaces at European and international levels. These efforts focused mainly on challenging the shrinking space for civil society, and the need for Peace Education in the context of continuous militarization around the world.
