    The South Africa Volunteer Work Camp Association (SAVWA) was founded on 26 July 2012. It aims to contribute towards the development of South African communities both urban and rural through local, national, regional and international volunteers to work together towards the cultural, economic, socio-political well-being of young people and marginalised persons or groups through empowerment work camps programs and promotion of sustainable development. The South Africa Volunteer Work Camp Association shall work and collaborate with other Volunteer driven organisation, Regional Work Camp Associations, and organisations.

    The organisation’s main objective will be to conduct voluntary based work camps and community driven development programmes in South Africa (nationally), regionally and internationally throughout the year.

    The organisation’s secondary objective will be to conduct capacity building training and development skills for young people and to facilitate youth exchange for volunteers and volunteer driven work camps exchange developmental programmes

    The organisation will conduct and create a global community where mutual understanding and respect are brought by active citizens that preserve, protect and promote cultural heritage and diversity through developing and expanding cooperation between organisations, institutions and government bodies in the field of cultural heritage and diversity as well as raising awareness about the impact of international voluntary service in cultural heritage and diversity issues.

    In the wake of technology we are working on the 4IR as young people are more technological advanced. We working on an online programme where we are able to train young people to use their skills in social entrepreneurship development something that our country has seen pioneer in the last season. We want young people to be connected and be able to use their skills for their own development and also development of their community at large.
