There is no exclusion for any pandemic causing illness in the insurance conditions concerning illness due to COVID-19.
The answer from AXA Switzerland in German and in English can be found below:
Translation:
Corresponding to the actual insurance conditions, there is no exclusion for illness because of Covid-19, respectively no exclusion of pandemia.
The duration of the insurance cover is strictly limited in time. Travel between the place of residence and the place of assignment (including outward and return journey) or on the 4th day after the begin of the return journey from the place of assignment.
There could be discussion in the event of a claim if the insured person becomes infected with the virus during the assignment, but the illness only occurs after returning home.
This problem of delimitation can also affect other infectious diseases.
