Southern Africa Workcamps Cooperation
Botswana Work Camp Association hosts 'The Southern Africa Workcamps Cooperation'
The Southern Africa Workcamps Cooperation was held from the 29th February to the 3rd March 2024 in Botswana, under the theme ‘Promotion of South-South Cooperation’ and hosted by the Botswana Workcamps Association
In an endeavor to enhance self reliance, collaboration and the attainment of internationally agreed development goals (SDGs), Southern African Countries (Botswana, South Africa, Mozambique, Lesotho, Malawi and Zimbabwe) came together to come up with strategies on how they can work together to set and attain a common goal of South South Cooperation.
The meeting was graced by the District Coordinator of Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, The Chairperson of Southern Africa Council of Non Governmental Organisation (SAFCONGO) as well as the Councilor of Boseja North where the BWA Headquarters are based. They shared ways in which the organisations can gain assistance in both funding and recognition.
It is worth noting that the different organisations discussed ways of carrying the SAWC mandate forward as well as mitigation strategies to the problems they face as individual organisations. We also had the honor of having the Sediba sa ngwao (local cultural group that based in Mochudi where they are local children practising rich Setswana cultural heritage). Thank you to Botswana Work Camp Association for the wonderful hosting and we hope to meet soon for more deliberations.

SCI is leaving X
As an organisation that values peace, inclusion, nonviolence and human rights, and like many like minded organisations did, we decided to stop using X as a social media platform for our communication.
