Education
Change Makers event
Other SCI experience
Written by Senka Nenadov from Serbia
VSI Ireland’s ESC volunteer, Senka Nenadov, participated in the SCI Change Makers event on 3rd June, organised as a follow-up event to the FLOW project.
At the event, Senka spoke of her personal experience growing up in Serbia, needing personal assistance and the obstacles in the educational system she had to endure.
It was a great privilege to be a part of the Change Makers project and to share my life story about my life and activism in the disability rights field. I was talking about growing up in Serbia as a child with disability, obstacles I faced in the educational system and how I overcame it, about the importance of personal assistance for people with disability, and about equal needs we all have as humans. Also, I had an opportunity to share my experience as an activist in the disability rights field, and to share my opinion with others. I am thankful to all participants for their clever questions that were guiding our conversation. Looking forward to new opportunities like this one!
