Blood Donation Camp

organised by SCI India

On 30th March 2025, SCI India conducted a blood donation festival where 75 persons each donated 350 ML of blood. Many people visited us and offered their support. The young, enthusiastic group of over 35 SCI volunteers participated in this event. This was the 4th consecutive year the event was organised by SCI India.

Three local Ward Councilors and the Chairman of Bhadreswar Municipality highly appreciated our initiative of collecting blood and donating it to the hospital, as hospitals go dry during the summertime and many Thalassemia patients suffer.

Serampore Sromojibi Blood Bank, an NGO, collected the blood and passed it to the Government Hospital. It was offered light refreshments like fruits, boiled eggs, cake, and fruit juices to our donors. SCI India also gifted a metal cane for carrying food and arranged a tri-wheeler to drop off the donors who needed help getting back home.

In the coming months, SCI India are going to organise a Thalassemia awareness camp in low-income neighborhoods.
